Prior to version 5.7.0, XMLBuilder does not escape the \"-->\" sequence in comment content or the \"]]>\" sequence in CDATA sections when building XML from JavaScript objects. This allows XML injection when user-controlled data flows into comments or CDATA elements, leading to XSS, SOAP injection, or data manipulation. This issue has been patched in version 5.7.0.","state":0,"publishedAt":"2026-05-07T13:36:55.871+00:00","modifiedAt":"2026-05-07T15:08:36.208+00:00","affected":[{"ecosystem":"Vendor product","name":"fast-xml-parser","ranges":[],"versions":[],"rawVersionEvidence":"{\n                    \"vendor\": \"NaturalIntelligence\",\n                    \"product\": \"fast-xml-parser\",\n                    \"versions\": [\n                        {\n                            \"version\": \"< 5.7.0\",\n                            \"status\": \"affected\"\n                        }\n                    ]\n                }"}],"metrics":[{"system":"CVSS 3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1,"severity":"MEDIUM"}],"references":["https://github.com/NaturalIntelligence/fast-xml-parser/security/advisories/GHSA-gh4j-gqv2-49f6","https://github.com/NaturalIntelligence/fast-xml-parser/releases/tag/v5.6.0"],"sourceUrl":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-41650","license":"CVE Program Terms of Use","key":"cve-program:CVE-2026-41650","identifiers":["CVE-2026-41650"]},"retained":false,"historicalAffected":[]}],"coverage":[]}
