Prior to 3.11.0, a sandbox escape vulnerability in vm2 v3.10.5 allows any sandboxed code to crash the host Node.js process via a single Promise constructor that triggers an unhandled rejection propagating to the host. The fix for CVE-2026-22709 (v3.10.2) only sanitized the onRejected callback in .then() and .catch() overrides and did not address the executor-to-unhandledRejection path. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.11.0.","state":0,"publishedAt":"2026-05-13T17:29:00.289+00:00","modifiedAt":"2026-09-07T12:05:03.101+00:00","affected":[{"ecosystem":"Vendor product","name":"vm2","ranges":[],"versions":[],"rawVersionEvidence":"{\n                    \"vendor\": \"patriksimek\",\n                    \"product\": \"vm2\",\n                    \"versions\": [\n                        {\n                            \"version\": \"< 3.11.0\",\n                            \"status\": \"affected\"\n                        }\n                    ]\n                }"}],"metrics":[{"system":"CVSS 3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":8.6,"severity":"HIGH"}],"references":["https://github.com/patriksimek/vm2/security/advisories/GHSA-hw58-p9xv-2mjh"],"sourceUrl":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-44001","license":"CVE Program Terms of Use","key":"cve-program:CVE-2026-44001","identifiers":["CVE-2026-44001"]},"retained":false,"historicalAffected":[]}],"coverage":[]}
