Prior to 2.8.1, Datadog tracing libraries that implement W3C baggage propagation parse incoming baggage HTTP headers without enforcing DD_TRACE_BAGGAGE_MAX_ITEMS or DD_TRACE_BAGGAGE_MAX_BYTES limits on the extract path. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can send a request whose baggage header contains an arbitrarily large number of comma-separated key-value pairs or a single very large value, causing unbounded CPU and memory consumption and enabling a remote denial of service against HTTP services with baggage propagation enabled. This issue is fixed in version 2.8.1.","state":0,"publishedAt":"2026-07-17T20:41:27.675+00:00","modifiedAt":"2026-07-20T15:04:14.809+00:00","affected":[{"ecosystem":"Vendor product","name":"dd-trace-go","ranges":[],"versions":[],"rawVersionEvidence":"{\n                    \"vendor\": \"DataDog\",\n                    \"product\": \"dd-trace-go\",\n                    \"versions\": [\n                        {\n                            \"version\": \"< 2.8.1\",\n                            \"status\": \"affected\"\n                        }\n                    ]\n                }"}],"metrics":[{"system":"CVSS 3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5,"severity":"HIGH"}],"references":["https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-go/security/advisories/GHSA-74j5-xf3v-crq8","https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-go/pull/4720","https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-go/commit/192712ba0291b2e89166259111ebb5e90c8f52df","https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-go/releases/tag/v2.8.1"],"sourceUrl":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-50274","license":"CVE Program Terms of Use","key":"cve-program:CVE-2026-50274","identifiers":["CVE-2026-50274"]},"retained":false,"historicalAffected":[]}],"coverage":[]}
