Prior to 3.16.0, FileRise deployments with AUTH_BYPASS enabled trust the configured reverse-proxy identity header without verifying that the request originated from FR_TRUSTED_PROXIES. When the backend application port is reachable directly, an unauthenticated attacker can supply X-Remote-User and obtain a session for the asserted account, including an administrator account, without a password or MFA. The flaw is limited to deployments that enable proxy-header authentication and expose an untrusted path to the backend. This issue is fixed in version 3.16.0.","state":0,"publishedAt":"2026-10-14T20:16:00.021+00:00","modifiedAt":"2026-10-20T02:07:03.653+00:00","affected":[{"ecosystem":"Vendor product","name":"FileRise","ranges":[],"versions":[],"rawVersionEvidence":"{\n                    \"vendor\": \"error311\",\n                    \"product\": \"FileRise\",\n                    \"versions\": [\n                        {\n                            \"version\": \"< 3.16.0\",\n                            \"status\": \"affected\"\n                        }\n                    ]\n                }"}],"metrics":[{"system":"CVSS 3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.1,"severity":"HIGH"}],"references":["https://github.com/error311/FileRise/security/advisories/GHSA-98pg-w3jp-r8fv","https://github.com/error311/FileRise/commit/f7114ca2a4e624238dda0d097a07ad6b05c11bb6","https://github.com/error311/FileRise/releases/tag/v3.16.0"],"sourceUrl":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-57489","license":"CVE Program Terms of Use","key":"cve-program:CVE-2026-57489","identifiers":["CVE-2026-57489"]},"retained":false,"historicalAffected":[]}],"coverage":[]}
