Prior to @langchain/core versions 0.3.80 and 1.1.8, and prior to langchain versions 0.3.37 and 1.2.3, a serialization injection vulnerability exists in LangChain JS's toJSON() method (and subsequently when string-ifying objects using JSON.stringify(). The method did not escape objects with 'lc' keys when serializing free-form data in kwargs. The 'lc' key is used internally by LangChain to mark serialized objects. When user-controlled data contains this key structure, it is treated as a legitimate LangChain object during deserialization rather than plain user data. This issue has been patched in @langchain/core versions 0.3.80 and 1.1.8, and langchain versions 0.3.37 and 1.2.3","state":0,"publishedAt":null,"modifiedAt":null,"affected":[],"metrics":[{"system":"EUVD CVSS 3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":8.6,"severity":null}],"references":["https://github.com/langchain-ai/langchainjs/security/advisories/GHSA-r399-636x-v7f6","https://github.com/langchain-ai/langchainjs/commit/e5063f9c6e9989ea067dfdff39262b9e7b6aba62","https://github.com/langchain-ai/langchainjs/releases/tag/%40langchain%2Fcore%401.1.8","https://github.com/langchain-ai/langchainjs/releases/tag/langchain%401.2.3"],"sourceUrl":"https://euvd.enisa.europa.eu/vulnerability/EUVD-2025-204846","license":"ENISA EUVD · source terms and attribution apply","enrichment":{"sourceStatus":null,"weaknesses":[],"productCriteria":[],"sourceDates":{"datePublished":"Dec 23, 2025, 10:56:04 PM","dateUpdated":"Dec 24, 2025, 2:38:40 PM"},"relatedAdvisories":[{"id":"WID-SEC-W-2025-2936","title":"LangChain: Mehrere Schwachstellen ermöglichen Offenlegung von Informationen","vulnerabilityIds":["CVE-2025-68664","CVE-2025-68665"]},{"id":"RHSA-2026:3713","title":"Red Hat Security Advisory: RHOAI 3.3 - Red Hat OpenShift AI","vulnerabilityIds":["CVE-2024-25621","CVE-2025-6242","CVE-2025-12638","CVE-2025-12816","CVE-2025-14180","CVE-2025-14920","CVE-2025-14921","CVE-2025-14922","CVE-2025-14924","CVE-2025-14925","CVE-2025-14926","CVE-2025-14927","CVE-2025-14928","CVE-2025-14929","CVE-2025-14930","CVE-2025-15284","CVE-2025-48956","CVE-2025-52881","CVE-2025-59425","CVE-2025-61726","CVE-2025-61729","CVE-2025-62164","CVE-2025-62593","CVE-2025-64756","CVE-2025-66031","CVE-2025-66034","CVE-2025-66416","CVE-2025-66418","CVE-2025-66448","CVE-2025-66471","CVE-2025-66506","CVE-2025-66626","CVE-2025-67725","CVE-2025-67726","CVE-2025-68156","CVE-2025-68476","CVE-2025-68665","CVE-2025-69223","CVE-2025-69872","CVE-2026-0897","CVE-2026-1260","CVE-2026-21441","CVE-2026-22778","CVE-2026-22807","CVE-2026-24049","CVE-2026-24486"]}],"note":"EUVD source date text has no stated timezone and is retained without inventing a UTC instant.
