After one such patch,\n`Object.prototype.someProp` is set process-wide, affecting every plain object in the Node process. Any service that calls `scimPatch()` on attacker-controlled JSON (i.e. any SCIM endpoint accepting `PATCH` from an external IdP) is exploitable on a stock Node runtime. Version 0.9.1 contains a patch. A workaround is available. Calling `Object.freeze(Object.prototype)` (and the same on `Array.prototype`, `Function.prototype`) at process startup neutralizes this class of bug — assignment to a frozen prototype becomes a silent no-op in sloppy mode or a `TypeError` in strict mode. Node\u0027s `--frozen-intrinsics` flag does this for built-ins automatically.","datePublished":"Aug 7, 2026, 9:26:54 PM","dateUpdated":"Aug 10, 2026, 2:06:00 PM","baseScore":9.1,"baseScoreVersion":"3.1","baseScoreVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:H/A:L","references":"https://github.com/thomaspoignant/scim-patch/security/advisories/GHSA-9m6g-wc8r-q59c\nhttps://github.com/thomaspoignant/scim-patch/commit/260f9cd2ac5ceac3976978850bb47dcb391720f6\n","aliases":"CVE-2026-48170\nGHSA-9m6g-wc8r-q59c\n","assigner":"GitHub_M","epss":0.4,"enisaIdProduct":[{"id":"05721bc0-5eec-33ed-bc32-372e12daeca0","product":{"name":"scim-patch","vendor":{"name":"thomaspoignant"}},"product_version":"\u003c 0.9.1"}],"enisaIdVendor":[{"id":"e74eead3-27d3-3db1-a156-9970c3211425","vendor":{"name":"thomaspoignant"}}],"enisaIdVulnerability":[{"id":"1a4fde54-cb59-315b-bccd-e88383923af1","vulnerability":{"id":"GHSA-9m6g-wc8r-q59c","description":"scimPatch vulnerable to prototype pollution via unfiltered keys in patch","datePublished":"Jun 22, 2026, 10:57:48 PM","dateUpdated":"Jun 22, 2026, 10:57:48 PM","baseScore":0.0,"references":"https://github.com/thomaspoignant/scim-patch/security/advisories/GHSA-9m6g-wc8r-q59c\nhttps://github.com/thomaspoignant/scim-patch/commit/260f9cd2ac5ceac3976978850bb47dcb391720f6\nhttps://github.com/thomaspoignant/scim-patch\n","enisa_id":"EUVD-2026-54686\n","aliases":"GHSA-9m6g-wc8r-q59c\nCVE-2026-48170\n","epss":0.0,"dataProcessed":"Oct 25, 2026, 1:57:08 AM","vulnerabilityProduct":[],"vulnerabilityVendor":[]}},{"id":"92c1e23c-e85d-347c-9f7c-f9ab6e3fab3d","vulnerability":{"id":"CVE-2026-48170","description":"`scim-patch`, a library to perform SCIM patch, prior to version 0.9.1 performs prototype pollution when applying a SCIM PATCH operation whose `value` object contains a key like `\"__proto__.someProp\"`.
