Starting a multithreaded frame\n(`zstdmt` feature) replaces those parameters with the workers' without\nresizing the context's own tables, so after an abandoned single-threaded\nframe, the copy wrote up to 512 KiB past a heap allocation, or read past\none. This became reachable with the bundled zstd 1.5.6.\n\nThe flaw was corrected by refusing `try_clone` (and the unsafe\n`compress_block`) once `NbWorkers` was set on the context.","state":0,"publishedAt":"2026-10-16T12:00:00+00:00","modifiedAt":"2026-10-26T14:00:05.6858177+00:00","affected":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"zstd-safe","ranges":[{"type":"SEMVER","events":[{"kind":"introduced","version":"4.1.4"},{"kind":"fixed","version":"8.2.0"}]}],"versions":[],"rawVersionEvidence":null}],"metrics":[],"references":["https://crates.io/crates/zstd-safe","https://rustsec.org/advisories/RUSTSEC-2026-0402.html","https://github.com/gyscos/zstd-rs/commit/682b8b2967cf4aba5cfe2d940d1e381a3e23211a","https://github.com/gyscos/zstd-rs/pull/384"],"sourceUrl":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/RUSTSEC-2026-0402","license":"OSV · upstream source license applies","key":"osv:RUSTSEC-2026-0402","identifiers":["RUSTSEC-2026-0402"]},"retained":false,"historicalAffected":[]}],"coverage":[]}
