Microsoft Office 2016 (Machine) › Microsoft 365 Copilot
Block Folders for Copilot Device Access
Supported on SUPPORTED_Windows_10_0 (defined in the Windows templates)
What it does
This policy setting allows administrators to define which folders (local or network) Copilot cannot access. If you enable this policy setting, Copilot is blocked from accessing the folders listed in this policy. If you disable or don't configure this policy setting, only built-in protections for system/network locations apply. For more information, see https://aka.ms/copilot-device-tools Note: This policy setting only applies to subscription versions of Microsoft 365 Copilot on Windows and macOS desktop apps.

- The OMA-URI is an inferred ADMX-backed Policy CSP candidate derived from the source ADMX file name and policy name.
- Some Microsoft policies use built-in Policy CSP pages whose area names don't match the ADMX file name, so verify the candidate against Microsoft Learn before deployment.
- The generated payload is incomplete because one or more ADMX element values were not supplied: L_CopilotDeviceBlockedFilePathsList
