Configure Windows protected print

ComputerNative Intune settingChanged in 25H2 · 1.0ConfigureWindowsProtectedPrint

Supported on At least Windows 11 Version 24H2

What it does

Determines whether Windows protected print is enabled on this computer. By default, Windows protected print is not enabled and there are not any restrictions on the print drivers that can be installed or print functionality. If you enable this setting, the computer will operate in Windows protected print mode which only allows printing to printers that support a subset of inbox Windows print drivers. If you disable this setting or do not configure it, there are not any restrictions on the print drivers that can be installed or print functionality. These deployment candidates come from the ADMX template; they are separate from the native CSP mapping above.

  • The OMA-URI is an inferred ADMX-backed Policy CSP candidate derived from the source ADMX file name and policy name.
  • Some Microsoft policies use built-in Policy CSP pages whose area names don't match the ADMX file name, so verify the candidate against Microsoft Learn before deployment.
