Windows Components › Internet Explorer › Browser menus
Turn off Shortcut Menu
Supported on At least Internet Explorer 5.0
What it does
This policy setting prevents the shortcut menu from appearing when a user right-clicks a webpage while using Internet Explorer. Starting with Windows 8, this policy setting only applies to Internet Explorer on the desktop. If you enable this policy setting, the shortcut menu will not appear when a user right-clicks a webpage. If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, users can use the shortcut menu.

- The OMA-URI is an inferred ADMX-backed Policy CSP candidate derived from the source ADMX file name and policy name.
- Some Microsoft policies use built-in Policy CSP pages whose area names don't match the ADMX file name, so verify the candidate against Microsoft Learn before deployment.
