Introduction

We’re enhancing the SharePoint page template gallery experience to improve how users discover, browse, and use templates when creating pages and news posts, while also introducing 31 new templates. These enhancements streamline entry points, improve navigation consistency, and make it easier for users to find the right template for their content.

When this will happen

  • Targeted Release): We will begin rolling out in early March 2006 and expect to complete by mid-March 2026.
  • General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCCH, and DoD): We will begin rolling out in late March 2026 and expect to complete by early April 2026.

  • Consider notifying content creators and site owners about the new template gallery entry points
  • Update any internal documentation or training materials that reference creating blank SharePoint pages
  • Optionally, inform helpdesk staff that users may see the template gallery instead of a blank page when creating pages or news posts
