What and why

To ensure continued access to Calendar functionality in Microsoft Teams mobile, users must update the Teams mobile app to the latest version. This change helps maintain a reliable calendar experience on iOS and Android devices and ensures compatibility with ongoing Teams service updates. Teams admins can make some policy changes (see below) and extend EWS until April 2027. EWS will no longer work after that date. What will happen

Users who are not running the latest version of the Microsoft Teams mobile app will not be able to access Calendar functionality in Teams mobile.
Users must update to the latest Teams mobile app version available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to continue using Calendar functionality in Teams mobile.
This change applies only to the Teams mobile app.
No changes are being made to Teams Calendar functionality on web or desktop clients.

Complete the following before October 2026:

Confirm that users are running the latest Microsoft Teams mobile app version available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Inform users that Calendar functionality in Teams mobile requires the latest app version and may not be available on older app versions.
Encourage users to enable automatic app updates on their mobile devices.
For managed devices, verify that mobile application management solutions are configured to deploy the latest Teams mobile app version.
Communicate this change to mobile users and support teams.

Ensure these minimum versions are in place before October 2026:

For iOS - Please update to version 8.9.0 (build 8.9.77.2026092302) or higher.
For Android - Please update to version 1416/1.0.0.2026122504 or higher
