What the notice says

Microsoft’s text, with source markup removed
What and why Microsoft is introducing Cowork adoption and impact insights in the Consumption dashboard in Copilot Analytics to help organizations understand how Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork capabilities are adopted and how they influence work outcomes across the organization. These insights provide leaders, managers, and analysts with actionable visibility into usage patterns, what tasks users are completing using Cowork, and an estimate of how much additional work was made possible using Cowork (Cowork assisted hours). These insights enable data-driven decisions and help organizations optimize their Copilot investments. This update also extends Cowork metrics into Advanced Insights in Viva Insights for deeper analysis and custom reporting. Rollout Schedule General Availability (Worldwide): Available now Impact on Your Organization Who is affected Leaders including executives Managers with scoped organizational access Insights Analysts with global partition access Global administrators Platforms and Services Microsoft 365 Copilot Copilot Analytics Viva Insights Advanced Insights Web What will happen Cowork adoption and impact insights will be enabled by default for all eligible roles. Users can find the experience on the Microsoft 365 services tab in the Consumption dashboard. In the Credit usage breakdown by service section, select Deep dive next to Cowork. The feature is available to all Microsoft 365 tenants. Organizations must have at least 50 Microsoft 365 Copilot licensed users to view these insights. Eligible viewers do not need their own Microsoft 365 Copilot license to access the insights. Leaders will have access to tenant-level views showing organization-wide adoption and impact. All eligible roles can view tenant-wide Cowork adoption and impact insights in the My company view. Cowork credits used cost data will not be surfaced in tenant-level views. Managers will see adoption and impact insights scoped to their organizations. Insights Analysts will be able to access Cowork usage metrics through Advanced Insights using standard person queries. Analysts can export data to CSV, connect to Power BI, or use Microsoft Fabric for custom reporting. Global administrators can manage access using the Copilot dashboard VFAM control. Disabling this control turns off the entire Copilot dashboard experience, not just Cowork insights. Action Required/Recommendations No immediate action is required. Recommended actions: Review whether Cowork adoption and impact insights should remain enabled, as this feature is on by default. If needed, disable access using the Copilot dashboard VFAM control in Copilot dashboard settings. Prepare Insights Analysts to use Advanced Insights standard person queries for cowork usage reporting. Inform leaders and managers about the availability of adoption and impact insights. Update internal documentation and training materials related to Copilot Analytics if applicable.
