Windows Components › Windows Logon Options
Configure the transmission of the user's password in the content of MPR notifications sent by winlogon.
Supported on At least Windows 10 Version 1903
What it does
This policy controls whether the user's password is included in the content of MPR notifications sent by winlogon in the system. If you disable this setting or do not configure it, winlogon sends MPR notifications with empty password fields of the user's authentication info. If you enable this setting, winlogon sends MPR notifications containing the user's password in the authentication info.
What it writes
- Hive
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- Registry key
Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System- Value name
EnableMPR- When enabled
- DWORD 1
- When disabled
- DWORD 0
Why it needs changes for Intune
- Policy references a Windows supportedOn definition.

These deployment candidates come from the ADMX template; they are separate from the native CSP mapping above.
- The OMA-URI is an inferred ADMX-backed Policy CSP candidate derived from the source ADMX file name and policy name.
- Some Microsoft policies use built-in Policy CSP pages whose area names don't match the ADMX file name, so verify the candidate against Microsoft Learn before deployment.
