Dynamics 365 Field Service: Enhanced visibility into work order financial performance

The new Work Order Cost Summary gives field teams a clearer view of how project-related work is performing by bringing estimated and actual costs, sales, and project task progress together in one place. Teams can quickly compare what was planned with what was actually delivered across products, services, and expenses.

When the Work Order is associated with a Project Task, the summary also shows planned and completed task effort, allowing users to review financial performance and execution progress together.

The summary recalculates automatically as the Work Order moves through key execution statuses, including Scheduled, In Progress, and Completed. Users can also select Refresh Totals at any time to recalculate the summary and review the latest Work Order and project values.

By bringing Field Service execution data together with Project Operations financial and task information directly on the Work Order, teams can identify cost and execution variances earlier, make more informed decisions while work is in progress, and reduce the need to manually reconcile information across applications.
