Dynamics 365 Field Service: Keep Project Staffing and Field Service Scheduling Aligned
Summary
Deliver consistent scheduling outcomes across Dynamics 365 Project Operations and Field Service, regardless of where scheduling begins. When a project task includes resource assignments and planned effort, that demand is represented on the related work order with the same role, resource, duration, and scheduling window. Users can therefore schedule the same demand from either application and receive consistent availability and booking results. When multiple assignments exist, dispatchers can select the specific requirement they want to schedule.
When a project task does not provide assignment- or duration-based demand, the incident type on the work order continues to define the scheduling requirement. This flexibly supports an organization's scheduling needs, whether project-task-driven or incident-type-driven.
