Dynamics 365 Project Operations: Optimize Project Operations - Update key project fields using Copy project
Today, when you select Copy Project , the system creates a project and copies everything from the source project to the newly created project. In this flow, you aren't allowed to update fields like contracting unit, owning company, and other key fields for the new project. When this feature is enabled in the feature control settings, you can: Use the new unified copy project experience. Copy a project to a new project and to an existing empty project. Select the project as the target during the copy process. Specify important project attributes, including the Contracting Unit, Owning Company, Schedule Mode, and Calendar Template before creating a copy of a project. Business Value: In Project Operations, copying a project has always been possible, but the current process limits your ability to change critical details. The new experience changes that. Now, you can update essential fields while duplicating a project, giving you greater control and flexibility to align with your business needs and save time managing project data. Enabled for: Enabled by admins/makers/marketers for end users
