Malicious code in @pkgship/frpc-linux-amd64 (npm)
Collected exploitation and prediction evidence
Risk source coverageCISA KEV is observed exploitation evidence. FIRST EPSS is a dated prediction of exploitation in the next 30 days. Missing scores are unknown. This collector requests predictions only for explicit CVE aliases in the public NuGet archive; Microsoft release views retain their existing prediction scope.
No collected risk observation for these identifiers. This does not establish absence of exploitation or a zero probability.

No install, preinstall, postinstall, or prepare lifecycle scripts were observed, and no code paths reading installer secrets, performing network exfiltration, fetching remote content for execution, or establishing persistence were observed. The package appears to ship a prebuilt binary artifact as a platform-scoped sub-package, which is the standard pattern for distributing native binaries alongside a parent JS wrapper. Note that frpc is a reverse-proxy / tunneling tool; its runtime capability is exercised only when a user explicitly invokes the binary with their own configuration, not as a consequence of installing this npm package. ## Source: ghsa-malware (99b326de85c188621a7204e38f8d68eea6969822d6012215c9f776fa70054568) Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.
