Safing Portmaster before 2.2.5 Unauthenticated Forced Downgrade via /api/v1/updates/from-url
Collected exploitation and prediction evidence
Risk source coverageCISA KEV is observed exploitation evidence. FIRST EPSS is a dated prediction of exploitation in the next 30 days. Missing scores are unknown. This collector requests predictions only for explicit CVE aliases in the public NuGet archive; Microsoft release views retain their existing prediction scope.
No collected risk observation for these identifiers. This does not establish absence of exploitation or a zero probability.
cve-program · CVE-2026-111664
PublishedSafing Portmaster before 2.2.5 contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows unprivileged local processes to force updates by calling the POST /api/v1/updates/from-url endpoint registered with api.PermitAnyone. Attackers can supply an attacker-controlled index URL that bypasses version checks and auto-apply settings, installing older Safing-signed releases carrying previously fixed vulnerabilities.
