Pion STUN vulnerable to remote denial of service via panic while parsing a malformed XOR-MAPPED-ADDRESS attribute
Collected exploitation and prediction evidence
Risk source coverageCISA KEV is observed exploitation evidence. FIRST EPSS is a dated prediction of exploitation in the next 30 days. Missing scores are unknown. This collector requests predictions only for explicit CVE aliases in the public NuGet archive; Microsoft release views retain their existing prediction scope.
No collected risk observation for these identifiers. This does not establish absence of exploitation or a zero probability.
cve-program · CVE-2026-54909
Publishedpion/stun is a Go implementation of STUN. Prior to 3.1.3, XORMappedAddress.GetFromAs can panic while parsing a malformed short XOR-MAPPED-ADDRESS attribute in STUN or ICE Binding-response parsing paths, allowing remote denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 3.1.3.

PublishedIn github.com/pion/stun/v3 before 3.1.5, XORMappedAddress.GetFromAs reads the address family header from an XOR-MAPPED-ADDRESS attribute before validating the attribute length. Parsing a malformed STUN message carrying a zero-length XOR-MAPPED-ADDRESS attribute from a tightly sized buffer causes a slice bounds out of range panic, resulting in a denial of service.
