cpu: hotplug: Preserve per instance callback errors
Collected exploitation and prediction evidence
Risk source coverageCISA KEV is observed exploitation evidence. FIRST EPSS is a dated prediction of exploitation in the next 30 days. Missing scores are unknown. This collector requests predictions only for explicit CVE aliases in the public NuGet archive; Microsoft release views retain their existing prediction scope.
No collected risk observation for these identifiers. This does not establish absence of exploitation or a zero probability.
cve-program · CVE-2026-72067
PublishedIn the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpu: hotplug: Preserve per instance callback errors cpuhp_invoke_callback() unwinds earlier callbacks for the same hotplug state when one instance fails. The rollback path currently reuses ret, so a successful rollback can hide the original error and make the failed transition look successful. Keep the rollback result separate from the original error.
