TOCTOU Race Condition in boneIO
Collected exploitation and prediction evidence
Risk source coverageCISA KEV is observed exploitation evidence. FIRST EPSS is a dated prediction of exploitation in the next 30 days. Missing scores are unknown. This collector requests predictions only for explicit CVE aliases in the public NuGet archive; Microsoft release views retain their existing prediction scope.
No collected risk observation for these identifiers. This does not establish absence of exploitation or a zero probability.
cve-program · CVE-2026-77059
PublishedboneIO Black contains a TOCTOU race condition in the create_timedatectl_sudoers_file() function in boneio/webui/routes/timezone_sudoers.py. The function writes sudoers rules to a predictable temporary file, validates them, then installs them with root privileges. A local attacker can exploit the race window between validation and installation to substitute malicious content, or use the predictable filename for symlink attacks, resulting in arbitrary sudoers rule injection and local privilege escalation to root. This issue was fixed in version 1.6.0.
