Updated October 7, 2026: We have updated the content and timeline. Thank you for your patience.  What and Why: The TAC device management deprecation, originally planned for September 2026, has been extended into October 2026 to allow additional time for remaining feature dependencies and customer migration.  To avoid disruption to device management, we recommend completing your transition to PMP and ensuring your devices meet the required prerequisites. We previously announced this retirement in MC1227622. Rollout Schedule: We will begin the phased deprecation of SIP device management this week. The rollout will occur in stages and is expected to be fully completed by next week.  The deprecation of Teams device management capabilities in TAC will begin in October 2026 and will roll out in phases based on device type and feature readiness.  The current planned sequence is: SIP devices → Teams Phones → Teams Rooms on Android & Teams Panels  The rollout sequence may be adjusted based on feature readiness and any remaining dependencies.  For government clouds, the rollout will follow the readiness of the respective environments. GCCH will follow the public cloud rollout, while GCC and DoD customers will have a migration period after the required convergence features become available. Impact on your organization: Who is affected  Admins managing:  Teams Rooms on Android   Teams phones   Teams panels   SIP phones   What will happen  As TAC device management capabilities are deprecated, overlapping management capabilities will transition to PMP, including:  Complete device inventory, including metadata and app information.  Remote actions such as restart, log collection, sign-in, sign-out, provisioning, and more  Update management  Device settings and configuration profiles  Device health signals and monitoring  SIP device management  PMP is becoming the primary portal for managing these Teams devices.  Organizations that have not completed the required migration steps may experience limited ability to manage their devices in TAC as the corresponding capabilities are deprecated. Action Required/Recommendations: Please complete the following steps as soon as possible to ensure your devices are ready for the transition:  Sign in to the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal and verify that your Teams Android devices are visible and manageable in PMP.  Complete the required prerequisites, including updating the Teams Android Admin Agent to the required version and allowlisting the required network endpoints.  Bring offline or currently unused Teams Android devices online and ensure they meet the required Admin Agent version and other prerequisites so they can connect to PMP successfully.  Review devices running unsupported or end-of-life software versions or significantly outdated Teams Android Admin Agent versions. Update these devices to a supported version and confirm that they appear in PMP.  Address any devices that are not currently connected to PMP. Devices that do not meet the prerequisites or remain offline may not transition successfully and could have limited management capabilities after the corresponding TAC functionality is deprecated.  For migration guidance and the latest readiness information, see:  Transitioning Teams Android Device Management from Teams Admin Center to the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
