Dynamics 365 Project Operations: Optimize Project Operations - Import projects in MPP files into existing projects
Previously, importing an .mpp file always created a new project. The import process copied the work breakdown structure from the .mpp file into the new project. You couldn't import a .mpp file into an existing project. This limitation made it difficult to manage projects when overall planning happens in Project Operations and individual planning happened offline in Microsoft Project for desktop. With this feature, you can: Choose to import the .mpp file into either a new project or an existing project. Update key project attributes, such as Contracting Unit and Owning Company , directly within the import experience. Know the project is imported based on the selected import option and configured settings. Business Value: Import Microsoft Project (.mpp) files directly into your empty projects to speed up setup. This helps you avoid starting from scratch and keeps your team focused on delivering results instead of managing project creation. Enabled for: Enabled by admins/makers/marketers for end users
