Dynamics 365 Project Operations: Import task - Import at a given hierarchy in the task grid

Summary

This feature gives project managers greater control over where imported tasks are placed within a project plan. From the task grid, a project manager can open the context menu for an existing task and select Insert task below. The standard Import Tasks pane then opens and confirms the selected insertion point.

Imported tasks are placed immediately after the selected task and at the same level in the task hierarchy. If the selected task has subtasks, the imported tasks are inserted after the entire group of subtasks, preserving the existing hierarchy. When multiple tasks are imported, they remain together in their original order, and their internal structure and dependencies are maintained.

The existing Import Tasks command remains unchanged and continues to add imported tasks to the end of the project plan.
